Masonry Metals Project Studio

The detail.
The numbers.
Your next step.

Our own branded workspace for project planning. Explore material weight, cutting quantities, dimensions and a simple CAD concept, then take a useful brief into your consultation.

Ready in your browser

Use the tools to prepare an initial brief. Results stay in your browser until you choose to include them in an enquiry. Final project design, tolerances and manufacturing information require review.

Tool / 01

Material weight
calculator.

Estimate mass from the ideal geometry and material density. Compare the quantity you need with a clear calculation basis.

Define the material

MATERIAL ESTIMATEkg / mm
Mass per piece—
Total mass—
Cross-section—

Ideal geometry only. Hollow sections use square corners; the estimate excludes corner radii, coatings, fixings and material tolerances. Use the specified grade’s density and manufacturer data for an order.
Density presets & calculation basis

Volume is calculated in mm³ and converted to m³. Estimated mass is volume × density. The editable presets are 7,850 kg/m³ for steel, 7,900 kg/m³ for stainless steel and 2,700 kg/m³ for aluminium. Density varies with grade and alloy.

Reference examples: Tata Steel mass assumptions, Outokumpu stainless steel data, and Hydro aluminium information. These are calculation references; material suitability is a project decision.

Tool / 02

Repeated-length
cutting planner.

Plan identical finished lengths from available stock. See the number of stock lengths, cutting loss, offcuts and material utilisation.

Set the cutting requirement

One cut allowance is included for each separated part. A final cut is omitted when the last part ends exactly at the stock end. End trimming, defects and mixed lengths are excluded.

Tool / 03

CAD concept
plate designer.

Adjust a simple rectangular plate and four-hole pattern. Explore the geometry in a live preview and download an editable 2D DXF concept.

Define the concept

The DXF contains the outline and hole circles in millimetres. The SVG includes a presentation preview. Material, thickness, tolerances, fixings and performance are defined during project review.

Tool / 04

Dimensional
unit converter.

Keep drawing and schedule dimensions consistent. Convert between millimetres, centimetres, metres, inches and feet.

Enter the dimension

Uses the exact international conversion of 1 inch = 25.4 mm. Outputs are rounded for display. NIST reference.

Keep the results.
Build the brief.

Your current valid weight, cutting and CAD inputs can become a downloadable planning summary or the starting point of a consultation enquiry.

Only choose “Add results to enquiry” when you are ready to carry that information forward. The enquiry page lets you review and edit the brief before submitting it.

Your Studio planning summary

Includes the current valid inputs, estimates and assumptions from the first three tools. Add the project name, application and drawing reference before you send it.
